Our services included works by the Civil and Structural Engineering and Resource Management Planning teams. We were the Principal’s Representative and Engineer to Contract for the Design and Build project.

The Build comprised of a 1,600m2 warehouse with an internal 2-storey office. The main build elements were structural steel portal with low precast panels. The warehouse included a racking system and was not sprinklered.

The warehouse was built on reclaimed land which has had over 60 years to settle and consolidate, a stiffen reinforced concrete slab was used to counter any concerns with further soil consolidation. The reclaimed soils comprised of acid sulphates which was due to the area previously being located below sea level, this necessitated careful consideration and selection of below ground materials used in construction to avoid impacts of the corrosive impacts of acid sulphates.

The main contractor was ARCO Group, and their consultant team comprised of Cook Costello engineers and surveyors, Mandeno Design Architects and Formable Fire.
